- My father gave me a printout and asked me to write it in Excel.
- The printout had a list of company names , dividend money and date.
- I’ll give some examples for companies: NTPC limited, Bharat petroleum, Aurobindo pharma etc.
- Then after I finished entering data, my father made a bar chart using all the companies.
- I stored it as Div G and emailed him
Bug Circus (by Kathy Darling)
I go to a library called Book World every week. One day I brought a book called Bug Circus. I liked that book so much because it was different. Five friends Joe, Paul, Bill, Sandy and Tara come up with an idea to catch insects and conduct a circus show. Everybody goes to get insects. Joe gets a beetle. Paul finds a caterpillar. Bill gets grasshoppers and Sandy finds a bug. Tara is not able to get any bug initially. They put the bugs in jars and train them.

The real fun started with the circus show. Bill presented the grasshopper called “The Hopper Brothers”. He made the grasshopper jump over a little stick. Sandy made her bug skate on a bowl of water. Everyone cried “Hurray”. Joe made his beetle dive into the water and Paul put his caterpillar on a string like a tight rope walker. Everybody cheered and clapped. When people thought the circus was over, Tara yelled about her spider act. Yes! She had caught spiders and hosted the top act, “The Flying Trapeze”. Her spiders spun a thread and started swinging on a trapeze bar.
I love this book because it’s very imaginative and thoroughly enjoyable.
Dandia goes and meets his friend Sapir
In an area known as Pajarati there lived a girl named Sapir. She always wanted someone to come to her home and play with her, but not strangers. Mostly everybody came, except a boy named Dandia. He was Sapir’s friend. Dandia lived in a block known as Javatio just opposite of Sapir ‘s house.
Sapir thought, “What happened to Dandia? I never see him playing with his friends”. “Thinking about Dandia makes me tired”, told Sapir to herself and she went to bed. Next day Sapir asked her mother, ‘’What happened to Dandia? I hope he is all right’’. “No! he is not all right. He has just got affected due to the pollution”. “The pollution!”, screamed Sapir. “Why didn’t you tell me?” “Never mind “, told Sapir’s mother. “What do you mean by never mind? Tell me mom. When will Dandia come?”, wept Sapir. “I think tomorrow”. “Oh really!”, screamed Sapir. Then there was a knock at the door. “Who is it?”, asked Sapir’s mother. “It’s me, Dandia, aunty”.
Then Sapir’s mother rushed towards Sapir and told her to see Dandia standing outside . Without uttering a word Sapir rushed towards the door and from that day onwards Sapir and Dandia had a happy life with each other.
My Trip to Darasuram
During the half-yearly holidays, I went to place called Darasuram, in Kumbakonam, six hours drive from Chennai. I went to a temple called Airavatheeswara temple. My parents said it was built by a Chola king. It was built nearly thousand years ago. The temple is very beautiful. I was running around the temple seeing all the sculptures. My father had given me a list of things to find in the temple. I saw things like the musical steps, wall sculptures, and women playing gymnastics, a bull and an elephant together forming an optical illusion and so on. We clicked many pictures out there. Then I saw a small goat in the lawns. My brother and I had fun playing with it. It was a memorable trip.
